The Royal entrance of El Coral del Pedro

During our visit to Bijuesca we stayed with Manolo Poncela, the local physician at Bijuesca, enjoying his generous hospitality. He and his wife Olga (also a physician) just finished the 'Coral del Pedro' as a guests place. The rebuilt one of the distroyed houses near his own house, behind the Bijuesca Youth Hotel   "El Albergue de Bijuesca"

The Coral del Pedro (at the right) is just a few meters away from Manolo's house (at  the left). We intended cooking at the Coral, but Manolo insisted joining him, so we only used it for sleeping. But it is fully equiped anyway for a comfortable living.

The Coral del Pedro is very special to us as city people. Nothing disturbes the calm silence of the place.

The living room of El Coral

Manolo has worked very hard with Thomás and Toñy to finish the Coral del Pedro this season (1998). The antique door could easily fit in a church's gateway. The key is about a feet long, you can't just lose it, its that huge.

The kitchen of the Coral

Toñy is a fine artist, she takes her decorations from the examples of  local artists and antique forniture. She has decorated the beautiful bench placed in a niche in the wall. Also the selection of the colors and the forniture were choozen by her.

The kitchen is in the back of the Coral. It is a comfortable and fully equiped kitchen

The sleeping rooms are upstairs. With two double bedrooms and an other bed on the landing there is enough room for 5 persons to stay in the Coral.

Here is a look out of the window of our sleeping room at beautiful Bijuesca. 

Living over here is as relaxing as it is pleasant. We had a wonderful stay in Bijuesca. Thanks again, dear friends. We are remembering these days of joy like stars in our memory.
